This track is a celebration of a lifelong human connection.
A long awaited collaboration between Ixi and Ness formerly of the Horsedrawn Hardcore. Ness plays Fiddle.
Their collaborations previously consisted of fireside jams or inner city busking – the collaboration then between fiddle and whistle.
In 1997 they first attempted to sample the violin into the Spiral Akal 1100 – at the Near Year party at Tores Vedras in Portugal. The sample still exists but the idea stayed dormant, probably due to the technology of the time being insufficiently advanced to get the fiddle in time.
The name is taken from a fusion of our two names but also has a double meaning.
The suffix “ness” in English is used to denote a quality or state of being.
In this case the quality or state of being Ix, which is something I have to deal with on a daily basis. It could also be used to describe my unique and recognizable sound which is here paired perfectly with the earthy sounds of Ness’s violin.
