FIND OUT MORE ABOUT BAD GIRLZ
Written in Bogota with the musical direction of our good friend and talented musician Dani Boom this song is dedicated to all our South American friends .
“Stripped back riddims and calypso flows as Bad Girlz take things tropical, whipping up dancefloor smiles and endless sunshine on a whistle stop carnival tour. Shades on…”
Very different from our usual style this song was written by Sim Simmer with vocals recorded in Caccamo, Sicily and keyboard parts added in Colombia. Feat Dani Boom on Keys with additional vocals from Cali the French Bulldog.
“Calling out the bang average Romeos in a rolling, upbeat ditty, Booty Call takes a tongue-in-cheek, note-to-self look at players who can’t hold the game. Not angry, not even disappointed – just shape up.”
Electro Blues at it’s finest in a Bad Girlz Style.
“Deliciously offbeat, Going Undercover weaves deep bass through riffing melodies and broken beats. As the skies pour and everything falls apart, this is the fat grin under the umbrella.”
I had always wondered if I could write a song that changed Genre and tempo in the middle. The challenge was to use the same noises in both part of the tracks and keep the energy intact.
“Exploring freedom, evolution, originality and independence, Genre Busting is a soulful, gloriously unconventional ride through speeds, styles and genres – the music as the message.”
Sometimes for inspiration we choose an old song we like and i try to copy the bass or melody, often sampling the original to write along to but not using it in the finished song. It’s pretty much guaranteed to sound nothing like the original but is a very useful starting point. In this case Sim Simmer suggested “It’s just an illusion” by Imagination.
“A heaving rave banger in full effect, Little Miss Information is a pure slice of badness – jump up rhymes, fizzing energy and flying basslines to get midnight pumping.”
Years ago someone asked use to make a remix of Spiral Tribe’s “Breach the Peace” using just the powerful phrase “I am a Savage and I do not understand how the beauty of the Earth can be sold back to man” The remix never happened but the idea stuck in my head and turned into this banging track that brings old school nineties vibes right uptodate.
Heavyweight warehouse techno – 3 am as the dancefloor slams. Pulsating darkness, throbbing energy, eerie stabs and a searing lyrical flow, this is raw, uncut and deeply proper.
The clue is in the name ! Some of you may of already heard this as it was previously released digitally, but a change of distributor gave us the opportunity to re release it as part of the album – It’s also included in the Vinyl Sampler.
